Wuhan & Qingdao: Travelogue and photo sharing. Went with a friend for about 6 days, taking 4 days off + a 2-day weekend.
Wed, May 13, 2026: Packed my bags right after work and rushed to Shenzhen Bao’an Airport. Took off at 11:45 PM. Thu, May 14, 2026: Arrived at Tianhe Airport at 1:40 AM, then checked into a hotel near the airport. During the day, we wandered around Jianghan Road Pedestrian Street, Lihuangpi Road, and other spots. In the evening, we also checked out the Yellow Crane Tower (didn’t go inside) and strolled under the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge before heading back to the hotel.
Fri, May 15, 2026: Wandered around Chuhe Hanjie, Hubei Provincial Museum, Optics Valley Square, and other places. At dusk, headed back to the hotel to grab our luggage and went to the airport. Took off at 11:35 PM. Sat, May 16, 2026: Arrived at Jiaodong Airport at 1:25 AM, then checked into a hotel near the airport.
Sat, May 16, 2026, Noon: Headed to the downtown hotel to check in and drop off our bags, then went to the Qingdao Ferry Terminal and took a ferry for a spin on the sea (the weather wasn’t great then—foggy, so not much to see). After that, we wandered around a nearby mall. In the evening, we hit up the Taidong Night Market, which was pretty lively (felt like Qingdao is only really bustling around the night market area at night, while other places are quite deserted—do they just not have much of a nightlife?). Finally, headed back to the hotel to rest.
Sun, May 17, 2026: Visited the Qingdao Catholic Church, strolled around Zhongshan Road, and grabbed lunch. In the afternoon, we walked over to the Zhanqiao Park area, strolled along the coast to Signal Hill Park, and climbed up to the observation deck for photos. Then we explored the surrounding area—there’s also a Hayao Miyazaki comic street nearby. At dusk, we hung around May Fourth Square, watched the light show, and had some seafood.
Mon, May 18, 2026: Visited the Tsingtao Beer Museum, and went to see a movie (Cold War 1994) in the evening.
Tue, May 19, 2026: Flew back to Shenzhen in the afternoon.
For the 4 days in Qingdao, it was mostly foggy or rainy…
